Tantric massage in Paris, the art of slowness

A tantric massage is a slow, sensual massage inspired by the Indian tantra tradition, where breathing, presence and feather-light touch matter more than pressure. The masseuse alternates gentle strokes and a mindful body to body glide to awaken the senses and quiet the mind. Trained Thai masseuses offer it daily near Place de Clichy, Paris 9th, from €100.

What is a tantric massage?

The word “tantra” comes from Sanskrit and refers to a family of spiritual traditions born in India more than a thousand years ago. At their heart is a simple idea: the body and the senses are not obstacles to inner peace, but a path towards it. Breath, attention and touch become ways of being fully present.

The modern tantric massage borrows this philosophy. It is not a technique of pressure points or deep tissue work. It is a slow, sensual massage where every gesture is unhurried, where silence and breathing take up space, and where the goal is to let go completely. At our salon, Thai masseuses combine this approach with their mastery of the body to body massage.

How a tantric massage unfolds

Arrival and breath

After a warm shower, you lie down in the softly lit room. Before any massage, your masseuse places her hands on your back and invites you to breathe slowly with her. A few deep breaths, in and out. This short ritual sets the pace for everything that follows.

Feather-light touch

The first phase is all about lightness. Fingertips, forearms, the back of the hand: the masseuse brushes the skin with touches so light they are sometimes barely felt. This awakens the skin and heightens your attention. Paradoxically, it is often more relaxing than strong pressure.

Warm oil and slow strokes

She then warms oil in her hands and moves on to long, enveloping strokes along the back, the legs and the arms. The rhythm stays slow and regular, following your breathing.

The mindful glide

Finally comes the tantric body to body: your masseuse glides over you with her oiled body, very slowly, with pauses. Where a classic body to body flows continuously, the tantric version plays with stillness and contrast. You turn over and the massage continues, always at the same unhurried pace.

Stillness

Throughout the session, you are free to speak or to stay silent. Many people find that they naturally stop talking after a few minutes, as the rhythm of the breath takes over. The session ends with a few minutes of stillness, a hand resting on your chest or back, then a last shower. This is often when the effect is felt most strongly.

What tantric massage is, and what it is not

The word “tantric” is widely misused online. Here, it means a sensual massage built on breathing, slowness and presence, performed professionally by trained masseuses who work by the book. Your masseuse remains free to stop whenever she sees fit, and an indecent request or inappropriate behaviour leads to the immediate cancellation of the session, without refund. Our house rules explain this framework in detail.

Unsure about some of the terms that circulate around tantra? Our erotic massage glossary defines them simply, and says clearly which practices are part of our menu and which are not.

The benefits of a slow massage

  • A calmer nervous system: slow breathing and gentle, predictable touch help the body leave “alert mode”.
  • Better awareness of your body: you notice sensations you usually ignore, which many people find grounding.
  • A mental break: for an hour, there is nothing to do, nothing to answer, nothing to plan.
  • Better sleep: travellers with jet lag often sleep deeply after a tantric session.

Tantric, sensual or hot oil candle?

If you like the idea of slowness but prefer something more classic, the sensual massage offers a lighter, more accessible version. For an even warmer atmosphere, the hot oil candle massage combines melted candle oil with slow strokes. All three share the same prices.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between tantric massage and body to body massage?

Body to body massage focuses on the glide and the warmth of skin-to-skin contact. Tantric massage adds a meditative dimension: guided breathing, long silences, very light strokes and a slower rhythm. The body glide is still part of it, but the aim is presence and letting go rather than muscular relaxation alone.

Why does a tantric massage begin with breathing?

Because the breath sets the pace for everything else. A few slow breaths, taken together with your masseuse, calm the heart rate and bring your attention back into the body. Once the breathing has slowed, light touch feels more vivid and the glide more enveloping. It is a simple ritual, and no prior knowledge of tantra is needed.

Is your tantric massage the same as the neo-tantric rituals described online?

Not exactly. Our tantric massage borrows the essentials of tantra, breathing, presence and light touch, and combines them with a slow body to body glide. It is a wellness massage rather than a ritual, given by trained Thai masseuses, and it follows the same professional framework as every other treatment at the salon.

How long should a tantric massage be?

Tantra is about slowness, so one hour is the ideal length. It leaves time for the breathing phase, the light-touch phase and the body glide without ever rushing. Forty-five minutes also works well. Thirty minutes is usually too short to reach the calm state that makes the tantric massage special.

Is tantric massage good for stress and anxiety?

Many people find it deeply calming. Slow breathing and light, predictable touch help the nervous system shift out of alert mode. It is not a medical treatment and does not replace professional care, but as a wellness ritual after a demanding week or a long journey, it is one of the most soothing massages we offer.
