The red windmill, five minutes away
Since it opened in 1889, the Moulin Rouge has been the symbol of Parisian nights: the red sails turning above boulevard de Clichy, the French cancan, the feathers and sequins of its revues. Toulouse-Lautrec sketched its dancers; millions of visitors have queued at its doors since.
Few of them know that, five minutes away, a quiet street leads to a very different kind of spectacle. Rue de Bruxelles starts on Place Blanche, just across the boulevard from the cabaret, and runs calmly to our door at number 42. It is the easiest walk imaginable: straight ahead, flat, past the little Place Adolphe-Max.
The perfect prelude to the show
An evening at the cabaret deserves a little preparation. Think of the massage as the first act: a hot shower to wash away the day of sightseeing, then the slow, warm glide of a body to body massage by a Thai masseuse trained in traditional techniques. You walk out relaxed, your skin soft and warm, your senses already awake for the night ahead.
A possible schedule:
- Around 5pm or 6pm: a 45-minute or one-hour massage at the salon.
- Afterwards: a relaxed dinner in one of the brasseries around Place Blanche or Place de Clichy.
- Then: a five-minute walk back to the cabaret for your show.
The salon closes at 8pm, so plan your massage to end by then. The exact show times are on your ticket.
What to choose before the curtain rises
- Body to body with warm oil: the classic, enveloping and deeply relaxing.
- Soapy massage: foam and warm water, invigorating and playful, ideal if you want to feel lively afterwards.
- Looking for nuru?: we do not use gel, and recommend the body to body with warm oil instead, with the same glide, more warmth and no supplement.
Every massage costs the same: €100 for 30 minutes, €130 for 45 minutes, €150 for an hour, and €250 for four hands. Full details are on our prices page.
Around Place Blanche
Place Blanche is also the start of rue Lepic, which climbs into Montmartre past food shops and the café made famous by the film Amélie. If you arrive early, a stroll up the hill is a lovely way to pass an hour. Our page on massage near Blanche describes the square and its surroundings, and our Pigalle at night guide suggests where to go after the show.
Sensual, like the cabaret, and just as clear about the rules
The Moulin Rouge celebrates sensuality on stage, with elegance and within its codes. Our massages do the same in private: professional, performed by trained masseuses by the book. If a guest makes an indecent request or behaves inappropriately, or if the masseuse simply decides to stop, the session ends there, without refund. Read the house rules before your visit.

Frequently asked questions
Can I have a massage just before a Moulin Rouge show?
Yes, it is one of the nicest ways to start the evening. The salon closes at 8pm, so book a session in the late afternoon or early evening, then walk five minutes back to Place Blanche. Check the time printed on your ticket, and leave yourself enough margin for dinner and the entry queue.
Is the salon open after the Moulin Rouge show?
No. The salon closes at 8pm every day, while the cabaret's evening shows start later. If you would like a massage the same day, book it before the show; otherwise the next day is easy, as we open at 11am, Sundays included. A late-morning session is a lovely way to recover from a late night.
How do I walk from the Moulin Rouge to the salon?
With your back to the Moulin Rouge, cross boulevard de Clichy to Place Blanche, where rue de Bruxelles begins. Follow it straight ahead, across the small Place Adolphe-Max, all the way to number 42, near Place de Clichy. The walk takes about five minutes on a flat, quiet street.
Which massage do you recommend before a night out?
A 45-minute body to body massage is the sweet spot: long enough to relax completely, short enough to leave time for dinner. If you want to feel refreshed rather than drowsy, the soapy massage, with its warm water and foam, is invigorating. A shower is included either way, so you can head straight out.
