Hot oil candle massage in Paris, warmth drop by drop
A hot oil candle massage uses a special massage candle: once lit, its wax melts at a low temperature into a warm, nourishing oil that the masseuse pours onto your skin. The heat relaxes the muscles, the scent calms the mind, and the session continues with a slow body to body glide. Offered daily at our Thai salon near Place de Clichy, from €100.

What is a hot oil candle massage?
Picture a small candle glowing in a dim room. After a few minutes, the wax around the wick has melted into a golden pool. But this is not an ordinary candle: it is a massage candle, made from vegetable waxes and butters that melt at a low temperature. Your masseuse blows out the flame, tests the warmth, then pours a thin stream of this warm oil along your spine.
That first contact is unforgettable: a line of heat that spreads slowly over the back, soft and enveloping. The hot oil candle massage is built around that sensation. It is one of the most comforting massages you can receive, and one of the most sensual.
The massage candle, a small ritual
Massage candles are made from plant-based ingredients, often soy wax, shea butter, coconut oil or sweet almond oil, sometimes lightly perfumed. Once melted, they turn into a silky, nourishing oil. The pleasure lies as much in the ritual as in the texture:
- The light: a flickering flame that adds to the soft pink and violet glow of the room.
- The scent: gentle and warm, never overpowering.
- The pour: a fine stream of warm oil, drop by drop, on the shoulders, the back, the legs.
- The warmth: deeper and more lasting than oil warmed in the hands.
How the session unfolds
Shower and settling in
As with all our massages, you begin with a warm shower, then lie face down on the table. The candle is already lit, the room already warm.
The warm pour
Your masseuse pours the melted oil slowly onto your skin, then spreads it with long, enveloping strokes. She works the back, the shoulders and the legs with Thai-style pressure. The heat helps the muscles let go faster than usual.
The body to body glide
Then she oils her own body with the same warm oil and begins a slow body to body massage, gliding over your back and legs, then over the front of the body. The warmth of the oil makes the contact even more enveloping.
Return to calm
A few minutes of stillness by candlelight, a final shower, a glass of water. Your skin is soft, your body warm, your mind quiet.
Why choose the hot oil candle massage?
- For warmth: ideal on a grey, rainy Paris afternoon or after a cold evening walk around Montmartre.
- For your skin: vegetable butters nourish skin dried out by long flights, hotel air conditioning or winter weather.
- For the atmosphere: candlelight adds an intimate, slower rhythm to the session.
- For letting go: heat is one of the fastest ways to calm the nervous system.
If you like this slow, warm approach, the tantric massage takes slowness even further with guided breathing, and the sensual massage is a lighter alternative. If you love water, ask for the soapy massage, with foam in the shower before the body to body. Unsure about any of the terms? Our erotic massage glossary explains them all.
Hot oil candle or classic oil?
Both lead to the same slow body glide, and both cost the same. The difference lies in the temperature and the ritual. Classic oil is warmed in the masseuse’s hands, so it feels pleasant but fades quickly on the skin. Candle oil arrives warmer and stays warm longer, and the pour itself becomes part of the massage. If you tend to feel cold, or simply love the idea of candlelight, the candle version is the one to book.
Warm, sensual and respectful
The hot oil candle massage is a professional wellness massage, performed by trained masseuses who work by the book. If the masseuse judges it necessary, or if a guest makes an indecent request or behaves inappropriately, the session is cancelled immediately and without refund. These rules protect everyone, and they are explained in our house rules.

Is a hot oil candle massage safe for the skin?
Yes. Massage candles are made from vegetable waxes and butters that melt at a much lower temperature than ordinary candles. The masseuse extinguishes the flame, lets the melted wax cool for a moment and tests it on her own skin before pouring it onto yours. You feel a pleasant, enveloping warmth, never a burn.
What are massage candles made of?
Massage candles are typically made from plant-based ingredients such as soy wax, shea butter, coconut oil or sweet almond oil, sometimes lightly scented. Once melted, the mixture becomes a silky oil that nourishes the skin. It is very different from the paraffin wax of decorative candles, which must never be used on the body.
What is the difference between a hot oil candle massage and a sensual massage?
Both are slow, enveloping oil massages. The candle massage adds two elements: the ritual of the warm oil being poured drop by drop onto the skin, and a deeper feeling of heat, which is especially pleasant in winter. The sensual massage uses warmed oil from a bottle and focuses more on light touch.
Is the hot oil candle massage good in winter?
It is our favourite massage for cold Paris days. When you arrive chilled from the metro or a walk up to Montmartre, the warm oil and the heated atmosphere of the room bring warmth back into the body very quickly. It is also soothing for dry skin, often a problem in winter and after flights.
Does the candle scent linger after the massage?
Only very lightly. The final shower rinses off most of the oil, leaving your skin soft with a faint, pleasant scent. If you prefer a completely neutral scent because you are going straight to a meeting or a dinner, mention it when you book and your masseuse will adapt.
